About Nikki

Nikki, the creative force behind Lady Lovebird Artistry, is a seasoned tattoo artist and painter based in Greensboro, North Carolina. With a career spanning over two decades, Nikki has honed her craft across various locations and cultures, enriching her artistic journey.

Nikki's passion for tattooing ignited in 2005 when she began a formal apprenticeship in New Jersey. By 2008, she had opened Tattoos Are Forever, establishing studios in North Arlington and a more intimate setting in Wayne, NJ. Her dedication led her to tattoo across the United States, participating in conventions and guest spots, and later, internationally. She’s worked her way through bustling South American cities nestled in mountains and along the coast, before landing in Ireland.

In 2020, Nikki relocated to London, where the pandemic’s lockdown prevented her from tattooing. Undeterred, she stepped outside her usual scope and worked as a housekeeping supervisor.

Nikki returned to New Jersey but eventually made her way to North Carolina. After working in a local shop for a year, she recognized the need for change and took time to explore new avenues, including further education and working with animals. This period of self-discovery culminated in the establishment of Lady Lovebird Artistry—a studio where Nikki could fully immerse herself in tattooing and painting.

Lady Lovebird Artistry specializes in custom tattoos with an illustrative flair. She truly loves doing meaningful tattoos that make people feel happy. Nikki encourages potential clients to book consultations to ensure a collaborative and personalized experience.Beyond tattooing, she offers original paintings and art prints.

Nikki’s path hasn’t been linear—but every step has shaped her perspective and deepened her approach to tattooing. She brings warmth, curiosity, and a thoughtful approach to every design—and loves connecting with people through art.

Feel free to contact Nikki with any questions and set up a consultation.

About The Tattoo Process

Setting up your appointment is easy, just contact Nikki and let her know when you’re available and what you would like to get done. She is always more than happy to set up a consultation first before the tattoo appointment. Consultations are a great way to address questions and concerns. Sometimes Nikki prefers a consultation especially for large scale projects and cover ups. It also helps Nikki get a better understanding of your ideas and your vision.

Once your tattoo appointment is set there are a few things to keep in mind. Make sure you have no where to be, except in the tattoo chair, you can’t rush perfection. Make sure to arrange childcare if needed. Nikki’s space is small so if your looking to bring your crew for moral support just pick 1 or 2 of the best candidates and leave the rest of the entourage at home. The tattoo space is a calm, positive, drama free environment. Tattooing can not be done on sun burn, so if you will be out in the sun prior to your appointment it is important to protect the area getting tattooed with clothing or a strong sunblock. New tattoos are a wound that needs to be cared for. Pools, hot tubs, bath tubs, ect. are a no go for a few weeks or until your tattoo is fully healed. So it isn’t a great idea to book your tattoo appointment right before your vacation.

For your tattoo appointment everything that can possibly be disposable is one time use disposable only, that includes razors, needle cartridges, ink caps and A&D ointment packs. Protective barriers cover everything that is not able to be disposable and the tattoo station is disinfected with hospital grade disinfectant when the station is broken down after each client. Universal precautions are always taken.

Once the tattoo is done it’s up to you to take good care of it! Nikki will go over different aftercare options and instructions before you leave. It is important to keep the tattoo clean and follow the instructions. Nikki offers free touch ups if any part of the tattoo did not heal as expected. Its important to follow up with Nikki within a month of the tattoo healing to set up your touch up appointment in order to be eligible for the free touch up.
